'Twists & Turns' by Deoné Rabé was selected by the public as one of the top three winning designs, as part of our annual Young Designer Competition, 2020 edition.
About the Designer
Deoné is a 23 year old Graphic Design student at North-West University in Potchefstroom. Her love for packaging design, illustrations and patterns motivates her to explore life through design. Deoné designed the Twists & Turns blanket in her signature style.
“The ‘Twists and Turns’ idea is a signature style and it can be seen in most of my work I have created in the past. I love using ‘fluff’ (squiggly lines as an enhancement) when designing a pattern or illustration. For this specific pattern I wanted to stay true to myself as an illustrator and embrace my own unique style. For me, choosing colours is more about the mood and feeling. I wanted a bright, quirky and exciting mood to be portrayed through this design."

Washing of Cotton Knitwear
For machine washing, it is recommended to wash alone and not with other items.
In order to keep the fineness and the length of the fibres of the cotton, the blankets should be machine washed on a gentle cycle at 30° maximum, or cold water is recommended. Do not use fabric softener or bleach, and prefer a gentle spin cycle to avoid twisting or deforming.
Drying of Soft Knitwear
In order to keep their shape and fit, all items should be dried flat on a towel in a shaded area.
Do not tumble dry.
Do not hang dry.
Do not dry in direct sunlight.
Ironing
Iron softly on the reverse side. It is also highly recommended to apply a damp cloth between the iron and the garment to protect the fibres.
Other Needs of Soft Cotton
Over time, it is possible that the knit will make snags or pilling in certain areas of friction. For this, there are small devices specially designed for clothing care at knit. To make up for the snags, small hooks, very easy to use, exist to remesh the threads of the items. To remove pilling, anti-pilling razors are very effective and do not damage the sublime and softness of the items.
